This is the funniest, saddest, and most accurate post on Tumblr I’ve seen in a long time.

these kinds of things disgust me. its like we are trying to make Christ stand for an ideal that we have conceived out of our own brokenness.
Christ was not socialist. he was not a conservative. he was not a liberal, and he was not a capitalist.
if the Son of Man had come to a society with such political spheres and influence as there are today he would have been rejected and despised by all. they would have hated him because he would have stood for something that would have undermined the very principalities and systems these men of brokenness would have tried to keep in place. his ways and teachings would have threatened the very fabric of what government that gave these men, on all sides, their “power”.
Christ stood for something much greater than any of our philosophies or systems could contain or explain. he stood for the best ideas of socialism, of freedom, of conservatism, and liberalism. but to think he was solely any one of these is an insult to Him who died for us.
yes, the politicians would have seen him as radical, but both the left and right would have seen this.
fox would have reported him as a socialist hippie, but cnn would have seen him as a dangerous “religious” nut job.
that or an irs hazard.
