this is a documentary series that i came on board with back in july of this summer. originally it was simply going to be a half hour documentary, briefly touching on all the aspects of this girl, marin’s, life. but after i heard her story in full i realized that every part, every set back, every story was an amazingly important piece of understanding her life story. therefore we couldn’t just make a twenty-five minute documentary and do her story justice. so after about a month and half we were able to develop the progression of her story into an amazingly interconnected four piece series that would follow her through the memories of her past.
this, the first chapter in her journey to realizing what she has been brought through, was filmed at the end of august and we just released it last week, for all the world to hear her story, or rather how it all started. she has an amazing story, and it only gets more intense from here. she holds nothing back, exposing the deepest secrets of her heart to the light and to the world. she’s brave. more than most anyone else i know.
so here’s to honesty. here’s to humidity, our paradox of existence. here’s to the story of water, bitter water.
